I had to add this highlight to the blog. Thomas and Laura met in France, and if that's not romantic enough, you should check out the vows spoken in both languages. The celebration was on a private property in Bolton, MA that was so beautiful - with butterflies, birds, a very cool dog, a pond, and lots of room to wander and play. The day was made even more personal by their DJ Nik Shukla. He paid great attention to detail, playing unique songs from their playlist that fit the tone of the day perfectly (and filling up the dance floor).

Glen Manor House

I'm excited to share David and Rocio's highlight montage! They had an absolutely beautiful wedding celebration at the Glen Manor House in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. The day was so personal thanks to the help of Pat from Fancy Tomato. She created an intimate and stress-free environment, set up old family photos in the bridal sweet for Rocio to enjoy, and even did all the floral arrangements. Randy and Jody from Serendipity Photo were also part of the vendor team. They are such a blast to work with and the photos are stunning! There was so much joy and emotion that day... I hope that this highlight montage does it justice.

Belle Mer

I know a lot of my Belle Mer brides are excited to see this sample. Rita & Matt had such a gorgeous day & I was able to work with some of my favorite vendors! It was actually my birthday, and friends wondered if I was sad to be working that night - but honestly, I knew I was capturing beautiful footage for two great families, and am excited to share some of the work we did now!

Kristin Spencer Photography - Kristin & Jared are such a blast to work with & the photos from this wedding are stunning (as all of their photos are).

DJ Rhythm Productions - Honestly, it was like we were in a club late night! He managed to keep the guests out on the floor having a blast.

And Donna Kim from The Perfect Details helped to design and implement every aspect of the day. You will see from the footage that her attention to detail and creativity give her business name true meaning.

I thought it would be fun to share something that is wedding related, but not an actual wedding video. I recently filmed a short video on a local photographer, Krzystyna Harber, for her website www.kharberphoto.com. I hope to do more spotlights on vendors I enjoy working with in the future!

Four Seasons: Boston

I wanted to share Dana &Jeffrey's video for a few different reasons... First of all, I haven't featured a Boston wedding as of yet! I thought this would be a great first Boston sample. The light at the Newton Presbyterian Church was stunning that afternoon, and Dana & Jeffrey were so creative. Their wedding included amazing live musicians at the ceremony, a fun choreographed first dance, photo montages, and even a choreographed father/daughter dance. I also met a photographer that I heard great things about, but never worked with before - Scott Zuehlke. He was so nice to work work with that day, and when I looked at his website, I was extremely impressed!

On a technical note, Dana & Jeffrey asked that I shoot in 16:9 anamorphic. Although we do not film on HD cameras, we can film in the same aspect ratio (16:9) so that the video will have that film dimension, and will fill your wide screen television. If you only have regular television sets, or family members do, it will be letterboxed on the screen like you see above. Please feel free to email me with any questions if you are interested in having us film this way on your special day...

Ocean Cliff

I thought while I was on the subject of family, Dina and Serge's wedding highlights would be the perfect addition to the blog. They gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Olivia Jean Bisson, on March 7, 2008! I think that their fun spirit together is so beautiful to watch on the screen & Ocean Cliff is one of my favorite venues to film. Congratulations Dina and Serge & welcome to the world Olivia!!

Although I intend to use this blog to share the work that my team and I do, I just want to take a moment to personally thank my 2007 clients for their patience and understanding. It was a year that I couldn't have prepared for emotionally, but I was constantly reminded of what I love about filming weddings and why the footage we take is so important...

In August, we lost my mother in law, Carolee McNamara, to Lou Gherig's Disease, or ALS. She battled the disease for over 5 years and showed true courage and determination. Her illness prompted Brian and I to move from New York City to Rhode Island where I created Fresh Focus Productions. She was wife to Michael McNamara and mother to five children - all of us able to be by her side during her last days. Carolee was a math teacher at La Salle Academy here in Providence. I added a couple of photos from a Tree Planting Dedication Ceremony held in her honor this past Spring at the school.

At the time of her death, I was almost nine months pregnant. And just one month later, our daughter Audrey Carolee McNamara was born. No one could have prepared me for the transition into motherhood especially after loosing someone we were so close to. Audrey has definitely shaken me and Brian up! She barely sleeps and she loves to cry. My turnaround time for videos went from four months to six - and now that she is nine months old and smiling and crawling, I am just starting to get caught up!

I didn't shoot the birth of my daughter, but I do have my own wedding video and other footage of my mother in law to cherish forever. We will not only be able to enjoy watching it, but Audrey - who never got to meet her in person - will be able to see her grandmother dancing, talking, laughing and celebrating. When I'm feeling overwhelmed about my schedule, or when I just can't seem to edit fast enough, I take my own wedding video out and watch it. It always reminds me that it's not necessarily "perfect shots" that make it so special to me, or the "transitions and cuts"... it's the footage of the people who surrounded us and celebrated our union with us that make it so unique and precious.

I am so thrilled that my career allows me to capture the excitement and emotion of wedding celebrations on film. I feel honored to create memoirs for other families and hope that my attention to detail and commitment to each project is evident in the work that I share on this blog...
